Reciting the Quran is not like reading any other book. It is a direct conversation with the Creator, and as such, it demands a high level of respect, purity, and mindfulness.
The physical etiquettes include performing Wudu (ablution) before touching the Mushaf, facing the Qiblah, and sitting in a respectful posture. These actions prepare the body for the spiritual weight of the words being recited.
Spiritually, one must begin with the intention (Niyyah) of seeking Allah's pleasure, seek refuge in Allah from Satan (Isti'adhah), and start with the name of Allah (Basmalah). Pausing to reflect on the verses and reciting with proper Tajweed are also essential.
